Aseon Labs Raises $10 Million to Build the Infrastructure for Autonomous Transportation
By Richard Snee, on behalf of The Crane Team
Autonomous transportation doesn't end with better vehicles.
It requires an entirely new layer of physical infrastructure.
Aseon Labs is building the robotic service network that autonomous vehicles will eventually depend upon—automated pit stops capable of charging, cleaning, maintaining and preparing fleets without human intervention.
It's an ambitious vision that recognises that autonomous mobility is a systems problem, not simply a vehicle problem.
Why we're excited
Autonomous vehicles are only one piece of a much larger ecosystem. Just as the internet required data centres and cloud infrastructure, autonomy will require entirely new physical infrastructure. Aseon is tackling one of those overlooked challenges by building the robotic service network that autonomous fleets will eventually depend upon. These enabling technologies often become foundational industries in their own right.
Congratulations to the entire Aseon Labs team.
